State Museum

During the design phase for the Indiana State Museum, RATIO Architects approached Jeff Laramore and David Young to research, design, fabricate and install representative sculptures for each of the 92 Indiana counties to be integrated into the exterior of the building. Each sculpture was carefully designed to reflect unique aspects of each particular county, while existing as part of the integrated outdoor exhibit. These 92 sculptures can be found in the walls, windows, walkways, gates and grounds of the entire museum structure and it’s landscape.

The coffee table book, The Art of the 92 County Walk, was a direct result of the popularity of Laramore and Young’s architectural features and freestanding sculptures on the exterior of the Indiana State Museum.
